Colleen's Gone and the Art Show is Coming!

Hello everyone!
Yesterday was Colleen's last day in the Teen Room as she is going to have a baby and is moving away. But that doesn't mean that things in the Teen Room have stopped! We're still running the 2005 teen art show in the Picton Branch of the Library. I'm on the search for people to LEND us their artwork - the show will run July 11 until August 15, and we promise to keep the artwork safe and on display. We will take the following kinds of art:
  • painting
  • collage
  • sketching
  • pencil crayon
  • sculpture
  • crayons, markers and construction paper
  • mixed media
  • digital art
  • photography
And.... ANY other kind of art that YOU can think of! You can drop it off in Picton starting July 1st, or you can drop it off at any other branch of the County of Prince Edward Public Library! If you want more details please get in touch with me (Liz) at : liz@peclibrary.org or call the library (476-5962)

or... Better yet.. come in and see me!

Can you say Y.E.S.?

The Youth Empowerment Symposium (Y.E.S.) is coming up soon.
Go to www.pecounty.on.ca/pdf/NRYES.pdf for all the details

Are you going to
HAVE YOUR SAY?

All you have to do is show up at the Wellington Arena at 1pm on Saturday June 4th.
Spend the afternoon brainstorming with your peers and community mentors about what's in the County for youth and what's not.

Find out how you can make your wish list happen. Hear about how other groups of young people have gotten the ball rolling.

Ever wonder how the Skatepark Committee got started and convinced the community to listen to them? They'll be there to tell you - and to put on a SKATEBOARD DEMO.

There will also be a free barbeque and, for those who show up at 1pm, free entrance to the BATTLE OF THE BANDS FINALE that night.

For the official details about the event go to the 'What's New' section of www.pecounty.on.ca
Under Youth Empowerment Symposium you'll find a press release with details or
go to View Poster for the short version.
