Very successful TAB meeting

If you missed this Saturday's TAB meeting, you missed:
  • 12 guys sharing enough sandwiches for 10 (sorry guys, but I didn't know you were all coming)
  • discussion of renaming the TAB
  • decisions about which programmes we will have
  • an announcement that the TAB now chooses most of the library's teen magazines...
  • and more!

If you want the minutes, let me know and I'll send 'em to ya.

LAN Party

On Friday, July 15, 2005 we will be holding our first LAN Party at the Picton Branch. Our main focus will be Counter-Strike but other games may be available.

For those of you who don't know what Counter-Strike is; it's the most popular online first person shooter for the PC. It's held the #1 spot for five years with an average of 85000 players playing at any given time. It accounts for 70% of the FPS online community.

Counter-Strike is team-based, and casts players in the role of terrorist or counter-terrorist. Each team has access to different ammunition and equipment, and each player has unique attributes and the ability to upgrade their gear as they successfully complete each mission. A growing number of missions are available, each having specific goals, such as rescuing a hostage or eliminating key enemy structures.

For more information or to sign-up call Lucas @ 476-5962.

Reminder: TAB meeting!

What are you doing Saturday, June 25?
Coming to Picton's TAB meeting, I hope! It starts at noon, we'll have some lunch and get a chance to talk about summer events at the library! If you don't come and have your say... it means that other people get to choose what happens for teens at YOUR library!!

So come out, let us know what you would like to see happen!

Wellington Teen Advisory Meeting

There will be a Teen Advisory Board meeting at the Wellington Branch on Thursday July 23rd at 6:30 p.m. All teens are invited to come to learn about summer programs for teens being offered in Wellington and to help brainstorm ideas for other programs and events. Come tell us what YOU want to see in the library, rather than us telling you. We'll listen!
This will be a laid back, fun meeting so come out and bring your friends!
